Now that the summer vacation is over for most people, it is time to return to work and routines. Have you ever wondered how your workday would change if you could bring your dog to work? Having your dog with you in the workplace can have many benefits. Interaction with animals can reduce stress and anxiety and increase community in the workplace, which can make both you and your colleagues feel more relaxed and focused. However, it requires some preparation for it to work smoothly.
Make sure to check with your employer and colleagues if it's okay to bring your dog to work. It's important to respect any allergies or fears of the people you meet during your workday.
Make sure your dog has a safe and comfortable place to be during the workday. Bring a dog bed, some toys and a water bowl. The dog should feel safe and be able to rest.
Make sure your dog is house-trained and used to being around people. Have some treats available if needed. Treats can also be used for simple activation in toys.
Schedule regular breaks to take the dog for walks. This is not only good for the dog, but also gives you a chance to stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
For us at Monster, dogs and cats are more than just pets – they are family members (sure you agree?). We would like our four-legged friends to be a part of our everyday life, whether it is at home or at work. Together we can create a workplace where both people and animals thrive!
